Captivated By The Towers

While I was driving home from having my fav dinner (cheese naan, dhal and tandoori), I was captivated by one sight. It was drizzling after a heavy rain, I stopped at a red light and I can't resist not using the built-in camera of purple Sony Ericsson K770i ;)

P.S Taken through the car's window, all the small round dots are the droplets of rain on my window

P.S I just can't help rolling down my window after the unimpressive 1st shot and these are what i got before the traffic light's went green hehe The Petronas Twin Tower looks amazing right?

I've only known that this tallest twin building in the world even have a poem of their own penned down by the infamous Datuk A Samad Said when I browse their website.

Di Sisi Menara
oleh Datuk A Samad Said

Di sini pernah berpacuan ribuan kuda
pernah gempita sorak, riang dan kecewa,
di tengah ragam manusia.
Di sini pernah berdesir angin rimba
merengek bisik hewan bebas
rahasia sejarah terpendam dan
pertemuan yang menakjubkan.

Di kening pelangi yang muhibbah
di dalam era yang resah
di atasnya kini indah
mercu menara bangsa
kembar sahabat bunga angkasa.
.

Sisir perak menyerlap girang,
petak kaca mengintan serlah
daun segar, buah ranum, pohon merdeka…
begitu kini kisahnya.
Dan di luar, kanak-kanak lincah kaki
mendengar decak air berbaur hilai
menyaksi salam akrab yang lama,
mengesan bumi berbisik dan
menghayati kudus doa yang restu.
Memang, tapak kaki dari LRT,
dengung hujah deret kereta
meriuhkan kini gedungmu, mengucapkan
selera bangsa,
jerit dan bisik di antara taman dan tasik
di sini masjid comel yang molek.
Negara perlu berwajah dalam kocak masa;
ia perlu bersuara dari lidah rimba…bisik yang malu;
Kepada lidah kota…jerit yang maju. Negara perlu
bersuara bagi warisan datangnya.
Ia adalah suara anak bermain air,
senyum ke hati keluarganya;
ia menggemakan irama industri dalam
santun hemahnya;
ia mercu waktu, dalam senyap batin,
tetap berdetak bangga.

Dalam alam yang pernah rimba
kini suara kota berani
mengucapkan hasrat dan hajat bangsa…
menyatakan kemerdekaan dan jatidirinya.
Kita melihat sisik dan tingkap,
kerlip dan mercu, kita separuh kagum,
separuh terharu. Menara sehebat ini
memancar watak negara, mengimbasi
tokoh yang berfikir, merancang dan memungkinkan.
Ia mercu bakal mempunyai
sejarah dan suaranya sendiri.

Di sini, menara sisik kembang perak
yang mengerlip jernih menjulang
ke dada angkasa, membisikkan cekal dan
azam bangsa. Bangun dari tidur sejarah,
cermat dan cergas, didakap sihat
sinar mentari, cerdas dan waras, senyum
bangsa yang sanggup bermimpi, dan
mimpi itu kini mercu bistari.

Ia kini menjadi bendera berkibar perkasa
dalam hati kita yang bersyukur.
Ia menjadi suara yang ingin bermaruah
dalam hajat kita yang luhur.
Ia adalah mercu mimpi yang bening,
mengenyit dari jauh, mengerlip dari dekat…
Ia nyatakan pencapaian tulus satu bangsa
yang bergolak bangun dari gelora dunia
dengan tangannya sendiri. Ia, demi warisan,
adalah rindu angin yang mengejar dan mengucup
dari sejarah abad ke celek alaf.

Ia visi pemimpin yang ingin bercakap kepada dunia,
bahawa dari peta biasa bangsa kecil juga bermaruah.

Ia adalah malam dan siang fikiran;
sejuk dan panas perasaan;
jernih dan keruh pertanyaan;
ia denyut hatinurani yang
sentiasa dewasa dan waja
oleh pelbagai prasangka.Betapapun
pencapaian kita dalam serba
ragu dan bangga,kini dalam
kembar bersambut dalam damai
dan syukur dari bumi sendiri.

Dan ia akan sentiasa serasa
dengan hujan dan angin,dan
sentiasa serasi dengan sinar mentari
mencari lidah dan telinga yang setia
membisikkan hasrat bangsa
yang pernah terjajah,
yang kini merdeka, dan ingin terus bahagia!!

By the Towers
by
Datuk A Samad Said

Here a thousand racehorses once spurred,
amidst thunderous applause, cheerful and despairing,
masking men's myriad manners.
Here forest winds once rustled,
whispering whimpers of freed animals.
Secrets of history hidden and of wondrous encounters.

Within the rainbow's embrace,
in restless unsettled era,
now stands sublime
the nation's summit
the Twin Towers blossoms of the sky.

Silver scales shining merrily,
glass slabs glittering brightly,
fresh leaves, ripe fruits,
unrestrained branches…
such is the story now.

And in its grounds, children, free-footed
listen to water splashing amidst laughter,
witness the greeting of close friends,
watch the world whispering by and
revere the blessing of holy prayers.

Certainly, footsteps from LRT, droning from cars
now enliven your building,
expressing the people's aspiration,
shouts and whispers twilxt garden and lake
alongside the lovely beautiful mosque.
This nation needs a countenance
in these changing times;
it needs to speak from forest tongues…of shy whispers;
to city tongues of confident shouts.
This nation needs to speak for future generations.
It is the voice of children playing water,
smiling into the hearts of families;
it echoes the rhythm of industries
in its courteous speeches;
it is the peak of time, it is the silence of souls,
it pulsates proudly.

In a world which was once a jungle
but is now a city of brave voices
speaking the hopes and dreams of nation…
affirming freedom and confidence.
We look at scales and windows
blinking and towering, we are amazed,
and awed.
The Twin Towers issue forth the nation's character,
inspiring the leader who thought, planned and made
it all possible.
It is a monument,
which will have its own history and voice.

Here, a silver ascending tower
soaring and shining brightly
towards the sky, whispering the nation's resolve and purpose.
Awakening from history's slumber,
astute and active, embraced healthily
by the sun's ray, matured and wise, the smiles
of a nation that dares to dream and
that dream now a towering, shining reality.

It becomes a flag billowing mightily
in our grateful hearts.
It becomes a voice yearning for respect
in our sincere hopes.
It is the epitome of our pure dreams,
winking from afar, glittering from a near..
it states the determined achievement of the nation
which braved the world's turmoil
on its own efforts.
It's for future generations,
it's the yearning win pursuing and embracing this centennial history
into the new millennium.

It is vision of the leader wanting to dare the world,
that from an ordinary map a tiny nation can still be dignified.

It is night and day thoughts;
the clarity and turbidity of questions;
the cold and heat of emotions;
it is pulsating quintessential heart, which
is ever matured and made steely
by varied prejudices. No matter,
our achievement with all its doubts and pride, now is
twice proclaimed in peace and gratitude;
it now stands
and speaks from its own land.

And it will always be in tune
with the rain and wind, and
always be in accord with the
rays of the sun,
searching for loyal tongues and ears
whispering the hopes of a nation
which was once colonized,
but it is now free and whishes
to continue being blessed!!

Work Hard To Earn The Rewards

I don't have much time to write. It's 1.43pm according to the notebook clock. I've had nasi lemak with sambal kerang (milk-tasty rice with spicy cockles) for lunch (which was supposed to be my breakfast). I've bank-in all the important cheque and money to the relevant parties. I've called my lifesaver (my plastic cards) centre to update on my coming whereabout. I've paid all the must paid bills and transferred some to my mom (yeehaa). I've successfully overload my beloved and tough orangey (she's sure one tough gal enduring me and all the "small things") with the much needed liquid to keep her moving and going. I'm still swamped with works but I'll just post this pic to cheer me up and reminds me that after all the hard work, I'm going to be there and experience it myself in the end! yeaaay!

Beyonce - Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)

While browsing through one of my favourite blog: Working Girl, Working Girl Two had put up this fabulous video by Beyonce and I am instantly taken with the moves, upbeat tunes and catchy lyrics!

Beyonce - Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)

All the single ladies (7x)
Now put your hands up
Up in the club, we just broke up
I’m doing my own little thing
Decided to dip but now you wanna trip
Cuz another brother noticed me
I’m up on him, he up on me
dont pay him any attention
cried my tears, for three good years
Ya can’t be mad at me

[Chorus]
Cuz if you liked it then you should have put a ring on it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Don’t be mad once you see that he want it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it

(Chorus)

I got gloss on my lips, a man on my hips
Got me tighter than my Dereon jeans
acting up, drink in my cup
I couldn't care less what you think
I need no permission, did I mention
Dont pay him any attention
Cuz you had your turn
But now you gonna learn
What it really feels like to miss me

(Chorus)

Don’t treat me to the things of this world
I’m not that kind of girl
Your love is what I prefer, what I deserve
Is a man that makes me, then takes me
And delivers me to a destiny, to infinity and beyond
Pull me into your arms
Say I’m the one you want
If you don’t, you’ll be alone
And like a ghost I’ll be gone

All the single ladies (7x)
Now put your hands up

(Chorus)

Love Drama

I penned this down while I'm trying to get a decent and restful sleep last night!

Love and drama
The words
The gestures
The smiles
The jokes
Moonlighted me to the moon and back
The remarks
The high voice
The impassiveness
The hurt
Sinking me into the ocean deep below
My defiance
My objectivity
My reasoning
My search
Leaving me confused and tired
Past and future intertwined
Being scared and being brave
Which one prevails?
Right or wrong
Will it be definite?
These lines are for you
These lines are for me
The end and the beginning
The beginning and the end
The drama continues

The Mountain of Colourful Clothes

I am not the most organised person.. but once in a while I'll try to organise my things so that it wont be that messy and easy to find. I've just started cleaning out my wardrobe when I realise there's simply too much clothes piling up in the basket waiting to be fold or hang. And thanks to the "love statement" from my Astro, I finally get to doing it! When I put all the clothes on the bed (including the one I took out from the wardrobe), I have succeeded in building a mountain of colourful clothes! There's not one space left of the bed (mind you, it's queen size!) which can be seen from under the mountains of clothes! Well, somehow someway, I've accidentally collect clothes hehe there's clothes from my schooldays, clothes from my sister's schooldays, clothes from my university days, clothes from my "before 25" days and clothes from my "current years" days.. It's been exactly 3 days from the moment I started and I'm still trying to sort the pile of clothes.. And I am glad when I searched the net that I found this great website by Marcia Francois It list down all these great tips you need of how to organise everything! and the need for organising!
For now, besides sorting out the clothes, I'm ironing all the clothes that I've decided to keep before putting them again in the wardrobe. It's simply because I can't stand to see the crumpleness and creaseness (results of being too long in the basket hehe) and because I simply can take it and wear it on the spot when the feeling strikes me! It'll save me more time as I'm always in such a hurry (I'm late getting to my work or someplace else huhu) For anyone else who is experiencing the same situation as me, isn't it such a pleasure to see all your clothes are neatly hang or folded, organised and ironed eveytime you open the wardrobe in search of something to wear?! It's a sign of winning a battle! =)

Dramatic Rain

It's been raining heavily these last months.. it'll be sunny in the morning but by afternoon u can see the heavy clouds rolling in. And then you either get raindrops, drizzling or a "raining like cat and dog" rain.. either way, it always come full package with the thunder and lightning... sometimes you'll get extra - storms and strong wind..I've always have this thing for rain.. for me, it's a bit on the melodramatic side.. I always like to think that the rain is wiping your slate clean so that you can start a whole new day after it. Just like the feeling of starting a brand new day after having a really bad day before.. dramatic huh? and I also have this thing for rain.. I hate it that my Astro would give me a "love statement" like this "Services are currently not available" and its when I'm watching my fav soap opera or movie! aarrggghhh and then kakwe,my cool housemate have to bear with my off-tune singing at full volume of whatever song comes across my mind and the unofficial dialogues of whatever I am supposed to be able to watch at that time! hehehe and that's a real drama!

Fraser Hill's Drama And The Best of Cameron Highland

During lunch, my colleagues and i started talking about holidays.. we were reminiscing about the time we went to Fraser Hill together for our colleague's wedding.. we had a blast that time! At first we're quite lost at what we're going to do that night after the boys had finish their itching playing snooker.. the girls even had a crash course from the boys on the a to z of the game..it turned out that sri had a hidden talent for it and fairus and nije showed us so many "moves" (hm, i can't remember.. did fairus actually got one leg up on the table?? hehe) on how to get the darn white ball hit the right targeted ball..that night the fog was so thick tho it was only 22 degrees at that time..Everything was fine until Diyana and Azman got their dvd and.... 2 MIC! out! The girls went ballistic and the boys were ecstatic hehe That night, the resort witnessed the making of a highly energetic girl group with a very very wide range of vocal sounds (WE LOVE SPICE GIRLS!!) and supersonic laughter with the boys as their adoring fans and backup singers LOL but then, we were made to watch (bg can la pulak kat the boys) Apocalypto, a movie directed by Mel Gibson. and I can only watched with one eye opened as I simply cannot "adore" the scene where blood was like water and the sense of mercilessness as one kills the other with such joy.. huhu mental block bila dah abes tgk movie tu!
Anyway, actually Diyana asked me to plan another trip before end of this year and we're thinking of Cameron Highland! It's always fun to go there.. you got to eat strawberries, lepaking at the gorgeous Boh cafe, buying fresh veggies and fruits, adoring fresh flowers and breathing in the cool air.. So, I decided to share a few pics taken during my trip there last year.We departed from kl on friday after work and by the time we reach simpang pulai it was almost midnight and drizzling.. the road was dark and there were only my friend's and our car on the road.. I was behind the wheel and I felt like I'm driving into oblivion.. huhu

If u ever arrived in cameron highland at night from simpang pulai..u'll be amazed by the sights awaiting u.. first it was so dark and suddenly there were like hundreds of lights as the above on your left and right which looks like it was hanging from nothing.. it did made me felt like i was in a Dreamland!

I would like to stay in this quaint and pretty "The Smokehouse" (if i am ever able to afford it) for my next visit! It's simply postcard perfect! They even put up a signboard reading this "Please enjoy our award winning gardens, take a picture, bring home some lovely memories...but please do not pick the flowers or step on them.Do not leave anything behind except your footprints. Thanks the Almighty for all things beautiful!Be happy!"

Sorry Ilzam, I simply cant resist to put up this pic as the landscape is just so beautiful! Now who wouldn't be happy when they have a picturesque garden like this outside of their house?

Your eyes feasted on colourful, pretty flowers and unique cactus they have in Cameron Highland.u also get to buy dried bergamot which originated from Calabria,Italy and it tastes pretty ok despite of the dried shrivel look.. And don't forget to stock up on those fresh veggies and baby greens.. u can get 16 packets for variety of veggies for only RM10!

Visit to Cameron Highland won't be complete if you don't go to any tea plantation or strawberry picking farm!Just look at those strawberries with whipped cream!!I'm drooling!! And I love to lepak2 at the Boh cafe where this is the place i termed as eat with a view!Very nice and scenic indeed!

I am sooooooo looking forward to the next trip!!! =)

Poetic Thoughts

I LOVE POEMS!

Here's a collection of poem that I simply love..

I Carry Your Heart With Me
Edward Estlin Cummings

i carry your heart with me
i carry it in my heart
i am never without it
anywhere i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing,my darling
i fear no fate
for you are my fate,my sweet
i want no world
for beautiful you are my world,my true
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;
which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart
i carry it in my heart

**I heard this when Cameron Diaz is reading it for her sister's wedding in the movie "In Her Shoes". I instantly fell in love with it!

It May Not Always Be So
Edward Estlin Cummings

it may not always be so;
and i say that if your lips, which i have loved,
should touch another's,
and your dear strong fingers clutch his heart,
as mine in time not far away;
if on another's face your sweet hair lay in such a silence as i know,
or such great writhing words as, uttering overmuch,stand helplessly before the spirit at bay;
if this should be, i say if this should be --you of my heart, send me a little word;
that i may go unto him, and take his hands,
saying, Accept all happiness from me.
Then shall i turn my face,
and hear one bird sing terribly afar in the lost lands.

Maggie And Milly And Molly And May
Edward Estlin Cummings

maggie and milly and molly and may
went down to the beach (to play one day)
and maggie discovered a shell that sang so sweetly
she couldn’t remember her troubles,
and milly befriended a stranded star
whose rays five languid fingers were;
and molly was chased by a horrible thing
which raced sideways while blowing bubbles:
and may came home with a smooth round stone as small as a world and as large as alone.
For whatever we lose(like a you or a me)
it’s always ourselves we find in the sea

ONE ART
Elizabeth Bishop

The art of losing isn't hard to master;
so many things seem filled with the intent to be lost that their loss is not disaster.
Lose something every day.
Accept the fluster of lost door keys, the hour badly spent.
The art of losing isn't hard to master.
Then practice losing farther, losing faster:places, and names,
and where it was you meant to travel.
None of these will bring disaster.
I lost my mother's watch.
And look! my last, or next-to-last, of three loved homes went.
The art of losing isn't hard to master.
I lost two cities, lovely ones.
And, vaster, some realms I owned, two rivers, a continent.
I miss them, but it wasn't a disaster.
--Even losing you (the joking voice, a gestureI love) I shan't have lied.
It's evident the art of losing's not too hard to master
though it make look like (Write it!) a disaster.

** I heard this too in the movie "In Her Shoes" where the good old professor teach Cameron Diaz how to read as she's dyslexic. This poem is very meaningful.

If
Edward Estlin Cummings

If freckles were lovely, and day was night,
And measles were nice and a lie warn't a lie,
Life would be delight,-But things couldn't go right
For in such a sad plight
I wouldn't be I.
If earth was heaven, and now was hence,
And past was present, and false was true,
There might be some sense
But I'd be in suspense
For on such a pretense
You wouldn't be you.
If fear was plucky, and globes were square,
And dirt was cleanly and tears were glee
Things would seem fair,-Yet they'd all despair,
For if here was there
We wouldn't be we.

Stressed Out

I've been feeling stressed out these past few days.. Can't seem to pinpoint the cause for it.. So i just list these down:
1) money.. money.. and more money.. everything needs money.. from having your car fixed to getting your hair cut.. *sigh*
2) work..work.. lots of work.. one thing finish and done with.. another comes up.. or many others..
3) time.. time.. and lesser time.. there is 24 hours in a day and you just can't seem to have enough of it to do anything and everything
4) focus.. the need to focus.. the urgency to focus.. it's mind boggling I tell you
Several questions have also popped up.. to which I have no answers or unable to answer.. I have this one sheet of paper pinned to the board.. I forgot where I got it but everytime I read it.. a little seed of optimism.. thus I try to..

Law of Attraction
1) Know what you want and ask the universe for it
2) Feel and behave as if the object of your desire is on its way
3) Be open to receiving it
4) Avoid negative thoughts to creep in

Bunga Citra Lestari - Tentang Kamu

I discovered this song while searching for another song and I simply love it!

Ku tak bisa menebak
Ku tak bisa membaca
Tentang kamu
Tentang kamu

Kau buat ku bertanya
Slalu dalam hatiku
Tentang kamu
Tentang kamu

Reff:
Bagaimana bila akhirnya ku cinta kau
Dari kekuranganmu hingga lebihmu
Bagaimana bila semua benar terjadi
Mungkin inilah yang terindah

Begitu banyak bintang
Seperti pertanyaanku
Tentang kamu
Tentang kamu

Craving For A Job Which Pays Me To Travel!

These were taken on one of our memorable trip to Sarawak last year. A heartfelt appreciations and gratitude to Ct's friends who had spent their time to take us on a road trip and even provide delicious food and lodging for us. It had then been my most memorable trip ever!(Well, mmg memorable sbb kami berusaha berfikir camne nak suh kapal terbang tuh tunggu ernie, hehehe
and very memorable for me cos I had to drag 1 luggage full with my officeworks! huhuhu) We were taken to Sematan,Lundu which is a 2 hour drive from Kuching. We had bbq (yummy yummy), card games, beach night walk, tinting tournament (which ernie won btw), photo sessions and me trying to figure out how to use the portable printer I brought (geram je). In this time of stress with the never ending officeworks, going through these pictures help to remind me of my motto: WORK HARD and PLAY HARD! =) (Am feeling itchy to plan another memorable trip!)

3. Anxious to find ways to fill up my productivity speedometers and for the clock to turn 5.45pm..
4. Daydreaming that I'm a millionaire and need not to come to work ever again and just busying myself with things I want to do at the moment without any guilt..
5. Listening to musics to lift my lazy soul..
6. Wishing to be in a movie theater right now watching

Jumble Jungle

Actually I don't really know what I want to blog about.. I'd rather be a reader than a writer. It's like I have a mental block everytime I opened my blog and try to write something. I have a lot in my mind of what I want to share here but it got stuck here in my head! Unless they have some sort of out of this world technology whereby you can scan your head with it and show images or thoughts you have in mind without really saying anything or jotting anything down! I wish! But then again, I think it'll freak me out too! haha Thus, as not to let my blog 'wither away' like dying leaves, I try to type something that at least will be comprehensible and understandable to the public and even myself!

Well, let's see.. I've just deleted what I've been writing just now.. so there goes my mental block again! Aiyaaaa... is there any sorting tray so that I can clear this jumble jungle in my head?!

Leona Lewis – Better In Time

Really like this song.. it's so true that though one love is gone, somehow someway another love helps to shine your path again! Never give up to be happy though you may hurt! It's life! Embrace it!

It's been the longest winter without you
I didn't know where to turn to
See somehow I can't forget you
After all that we've been through

Go in, come in, thought I heard a knock
Who's there? No one, thinking that I deserved it
Now I realize that I really didn't know
You didn't notice, you mean everything
Quickly I'm learning to love again
All I know is, I'ma be okay

Thought I couldn't live without you
It's gonna hurt when it heals too, oh yeah
(It'll all get better in time)
Even though I really loved you
I'm gonna smile 'cause I deserve to
(It'll all get better in time)

How could I turn on the TV
Without something there to remind me?
Was it all that easy
To just put aside your feelings?

If I'm dreaming, don't wanna let, hurt my feelings
But that's the path, I believe in
And I know that, time will heal it
You didn't notice, you mean everything
Quickly I'm learning to love again
All I know is, I'ma be okay

Thought I couldn't live without you
It's gonna hurt when it heals too, oh yeah
(It'll all get better in time)
Even though I really loved you
I'm gonna smile 'cause I deserve to
(It'll all get better in time)

Since there's no more you and me
It's time I let you go so I can be free
And live my life how it should be
No matter how hard it is, I'll be fine without you
Yes, I will

Thought I couldn't live without you
It's gonna hurt when it heals too, oh
(It'll all get better in time)
Even though I really loved you
I'm gonna smile 'cause I deserve to, yes, I do
(It'll all get better in time)

Thought I couldn't live without you
It's gonna hurt when it heals too, yeah
(It'll all get better in time)
And even though I really loved you
I'm gonna smile 'cause I deserve to

Financial Freedom

How to gain financial freedom?

Basic (facts that everyone knew but not many practice including myself *sigh*)

1) To put aside a portion of your income as your monthly saving
2) Be frugal in your spending and wise in planning your buying & investment

According to wikipedia, financial freedom is a point in life when you do not need to work for money anymore. Oh, how we all love to achieve that! Imagine a world where nobody needs to worry about making ends meet anymore. Every whimsical needs can be easily fulfilled. Wow, it's too far fetched, eh?

BUT, in reality, in a situation and conditions human are in right now, secretly I'm thankful that we need to face all the difficulties in gaining the financial freedom that we dream of. Without all the hardships, we will never learn to truly appreciate the value of hard work, commitment and life experiences that comes with it. I'm not denying that if you are born into wealth, it's lucky for you. BUT if you do not learn to appreciate the value of your wealth in a constructive manner, eventually the wealth is wasted and you would end up as broke as anybody else.

Yes, not all list MONEY as their #1 drive in life as there are things that money can't buy. Health, Happiness, Longevity & Knowledge (you are welcome to add more) All 4 need to be obtained by itself in ways you determined for yourself. As for me, I think knowledge is most powerful as it can get you anywhere and help you in many ways possible. Happiness balance your state of mind as well as your emotions. As for health, it is irreplaceable and is essential to life. Longevity is gain by taking care of your health and of yourself.

However, putting things into perspective again, gaining financial freedom that you dream of do help to satisfy all your material needs, right?
