Captivated By The Towers

While I was driving home from having my fav dinner (cheese naan, dhal and tandoori), I was captivated by one sight. It was drizzling after a heavy rain, I stopped at a red light and I can't resist not using the built-in camera of purple Sony Ericsson K770i ;)

P.S Taken through the car's window, all the small round dots are the droplets of rain on my window

P.S I just can't help rolling down my window after the unimpressive 1st shot and these are what i got before the traffic light's went green hehe The Petronas Twin Tower looks amazing right?

I've only known that this tallest twin building in the world even have a poem of their own penned down by the infamous Datuk A Samad Said when I browse their website.

Di Sisi Menara
oleh Datuk A Samad Said

Di sini pernah berpacuan ribuan kuda
pernah gempita sorak, riang dan kecewa,
di tengah ragam manusia.
Di sini pernah berdesir angin rimba
merengek bisik hewan bebas
rahasia sejarah terpendam dan
pertemuan yang menakjubkan.

Di kening pelangi yang muhibbah
di dalam era yang resah
di atasnya kini indah
mercu menara bangsa
kembar sahabat bunga angkasa.
.

Sisir perak menyerlap girang,
petak kaca mengintan serlah
daun segar, buah ranum, pohon merdeka…
begitu kini kisahnya.
Dan di luar, kanak-kanak lincah kaki
mendengar decak air berbaur hilai
menyaksi salam akrab yang lama,
mengesan bumi berbisik dan
menghayati kudus doa yang restu.
Memang, tapak kaki dari LRT,
dengung hujah deret kereta
meriuhkan kini gedungmu, mengucapkan
selera bangsa,
jerit dan bisik di antara taman dan tasik
di sini masjid comel yang molek.
Negara perlu berwajah dalam kocak masa;
ia perlu bersuara dari lidah rimba…bisik yang malu;
Kepada lidah kota…jerit yang maju. Negara perlu
bersuara bagi warisan datangnya.
Ia adalah suara anak bermain air,
senyum ke hati keluarganya;
ia menggemakan irama industri dalam
santun hemahnya;
ia mercu waktu, dalam senyap batin,
tetap berdetak bangga.

Dalam alam yang pernah rimba
kini suara kota berani
mengucapkan hasrat dan hajat bangsa…
menyatakan kemerdekaan dan jatidirinya.
Kita melihat sisik dan tingkap,
kerlip dan mercu, kita separuh kagum,
separuh terharu. Menara sehebat ini
memancar watak negara, mengimbasi
tokoh yang berfikir, merancang dan memungkinkan.
Ia mercu bakal mempunyai
sejarah dan suaranya sendiri.

Di sini, menara sisik kembang perak
yang mengerlip jernih menjulang
ke dada angkasa, membisikkan cekal dan
azam bangsa. Bangun dari tidur sejarah,
cermat dan cergas, didakap sihat
sinar mentari, cerdas dan waras, senyum
bangsa yang sanggup bermimpi, dan
mimpi itu kini mercu bistari.

Ia kini menjadi bendera berkibar perkasa
dalam hati kita yang bersyukur.
Ia menjadi suara yang ingin bermaruah
dalam hajat kita yang luhur.
Ia adalah mercu mimpi yang bening,
mengenyit dari jauh, mengerlip dari dekat…
Ia nyatakan pencapaian tulus satu bangsa
yang bergolak bangun dari gelora dunia
dengan tangannya sendiri. Ia, demi warisan,
adalah rindu angin yang mengejar dan mengucup
dari sejarah abad ke celek alaf.

Ia visi pemimpin yang ingin bercakap kepada dunia,
bahawa dari peta biasa bangsa kecil juga bermaruah.

Ia adalah malam dan siang fikiran;
sejuk dan panas perasaan;
jernih dan keruh pertanyaan;
ia denyut hatinurani yang
sentiasa dewasa dan waja
oleh pelbagai prasangka.Betapapun
pencapaian kita dalam serba
ragu dan bangga,kini dalam
kembar bersambut dalam damai
dan syukur dari bumi sendiri.

Dan ia akan sentiasa serasa
dengan hujan dan angin,dan
sentiasa serasi dengan sinar mentari
mencari lidah dan telinga yang setia
membisikkan hasrat bangsa
yang pernah terjajah,
yang kini merdeka, dan ingin terus bahagia!!

By the Towers
by
Datuk A Samad Said

Here a thousand racehorses once spurred,
amidst thunderous applause, cheerful and despairing,
masking men's myriad manners.
Here forest winds once rustled,
whispering whimpers of freed animals.
Secrets of history hidden and of wondrous encounters.

Within the rainbow's embrace,
in restless unsettled era,
now stands sublime
the nation's summit
the Twin Towers blossoms of the sky.

Silver scales shining merrily,
glass slabs glittering brightly,
fresh leaves, ripe fruits,
unrestrained branches…
such is the story now.

And in its grounds, children, free-footed
listen to water splashing amidst laughter,
witness the greeting of close friends,
watch the world whispering by and
revere the blessing of holy prayers.

Certainly, footsteps from LRT, droning from cars
now enliven your building,
expressing the people's aspiration,
shouts and whispers twilxt garden and lake
alongside the lovely beautiful mosque.
This nation needs a countenance
in these changing times;
it needs to speak from forest tongues…of shy whispers;
to city tongues of confident shouts.
This nation needs to speak for future generations.
It is the voice of children playing water,
smiling into the hearts of families;
it echoes the rhythm of industries
in its courteous speeches;
it is the peak of time, it is the silence of souls,
it pulsates proudly.

In a world which was once a jungle
but is now a city of brave voices
speaking the hopes and dreams of nation…
affirming freedom and confidence.
We look at scales and windows
blinking and towering, we are amazed,
and awed.
The Twin Towers issue forth the nation's character,
inspiring the leader who thought, planned and made
it all possible.
It is a monument,
which will have its own history and voice.

Here, a silver ascending tower
soaring and shining brightly
towards the sky, whispering the nation's resolve and purpose.
Awakening from history's slumber,
astute and active, embraced healthily
by the sun's ray, matured and wise, the smiles
of a nation that dares to dream and
that dream now a towering, shining reality.

It becomes a flag billowing mightily
in our grateful hearts.
It becomes a voice yearning for respect
in our sincere hopes.
It is the epitome of our pure dreams,
winking from afar, glittering from a near..
it states the determined achievement of the nation
which braved the world's turmoil
on its own efforts.
It's for future generations,
it's the yearning win pursuing and embracing this centennial history
into the new millennium.

It is vision of the leader wanting to dare the world,
that from an ordinary map a tiny nation can still be dignified.

It is night and day thoughts;
the clarity and turbidity of questions;
the cold and heat of emotions;
it is pulsating quintessential heart, which
is ever matured and made steely
by varied prejudices. No matter,
our achievement with all its doubts and pride,now is
twice proclaimed in peace and gratitude;
it now stands
and speaks from its own land.

And it will always be in tune
with the rain and wind, and
always be in accord with the
rays of the sun,
searching for loyal tongues and ears
whispering the hopes of a nation
which was once colonized,
but it is now free and whishes
to continue being blessed!!

Work Hard To Earn The Rewards

I don't have much time to write. It's 1.43pm according to the notebook clock. I've had nasi lemak with sambal kerang (milk-tasty rice with spicy cockles) for lunch (which was supposed to be my breakfast). I've bank-in all the important cheque and money to the relevant parties. I've called my lifesaver (my plastic cards) centre to update on my coming whereabout. I've paid all the must paid bills and transferred some to my mom (yeehaa). I've successfully overload my beloved and tough orangey (she's sure one tough gal enduring me and all the "small things") with the much needed liquid to keep her moving and going. I'm still swamped with works but I'll just post this pic to cheer me up and reminds me that after all the hard work, I'm going to be there and experience it myself in the end! yeaaay!

Beyonce - Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)

While browsing through one of my favourite blog: Working Girl, Working Girl Two had put up this fabulous video by Beyonce and I am instantly taken with the moves, upbeat tunes and catchy lyrics!

Beyonce - Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)

All the single ladies (7x)
Now put your hands up
Up in the club, we just broke up
I’m doing my own little thing
Decided to dip but now you wanna trip
Cuz another brother noticed me
I’m up on him, he up on me
dont pay him any attention
cried my tears, for three good years
Ya can’t be mad at me

[Chorus]
Cuz if you liked it then you should have put a ring on it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it
Don’t be mad once you see that he want it
If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it

(Chorus)

I got gloss on my lips, a man on my hips
Got me tighter than my Dereon jeans
acting up, drink in my cup
I couldn't care less what you think
I need no permission, did I mention
Dont pay him any attention
Cuz you had your turn
But now you gonna learn
What it really feels like to miss me

(Chorus)

Don’t treat me to the things of this world
I’m not that kind of girl
Your love is what I prefer, what I deserve
Is a man that makes me, then takes me
And delivers me to a destiny, to infinity and beyond
Pull me into your arms
Say I’m the one you want
If you don’t, you’ll be alone
And like a ghost I’ll be gone

All the single ladies (7x)
Now put your hands up

(Chorus)

Love Drama

I penned this down while I'm trying to get a decent and restful sleep last night!

Love and drama
The words
The gestures
The smiles
The jokes
Moonlighted me to the moon and back
The remarks
The high voice
The impassiveness
The hurt
Sinking me into the ocean deep below
My defiance
My objectivity
My reasoning
My search
Leaving me confused and tired
Past and future intertwined
Being scared and being brave
Which one prevails?
Right or wrong
Will it be definite?
These lines are for you
These lines are for me
The end and the beginning
The beginning and the end
The drama continues
